Serial Port Sniffer ActiveX Control can monitor data flows, and moreover, edit them. It creates additional virtual COM port in the system with the same name as the monitored serial port.

All data sent to and from serial port goes to the virtual port created by this component and is being logged into special, defined document. You can substitute data chunks with the data of your own, thus influencing the process of serial port sniffing. This real-to-virtual/virtual-to-real data transmission chain can slow down the process of data interchange a little. But in this way Serial Port Sniffer ActiveX Control gives you the ability to take part in data monitoring, not just watching the data pass to and from port.
