Send data to COM port and analyze reaction of the serial deviceSerial Port Monitor displays, logs, and analyzes all serial data exchange between serial devices and applications.Install Serial Port Monitor and track all data flows from any software or hardware that works with a serial port. In other words, Serial Port Monitor is a powerful system utility for monitoring the usage of serial ports, exploring OS functioning, tracking down problems in system or application configurations and processes. |
Common objectives and our solutions:
View and Filter monitored data
Serial Port Monitor lets you choose monitoring filters, thus saving your time and letting you track only the events you are interested in. It can process all standard serial I/O Control requests and other major functions including IRP. Both (IOCTLs and IRPs) can be filtered in Serial Port Monitor. Serial Port Monitor offers several views for more comfortable monitoring process: table, line, dump, or terminal.
Monitor and analyze Serial Port activity
Serial Port Monitor tracks, displays, logs, and analyzes all serial port activity in a system. Serial Port Monitor is attached to a COM port, opened by any application or hardware. All the data that goes through the monitored serial port will be displayed in this monitoring tool.
Emulate data sending to serial device
You can send any data in strings as well as in other different numeration systems (binary, octal, decimal, and hexadecimal) to monitored serial port as if it was sent on behalf of monitored application using terminal mode feature of Serial Port Monitor. This way you can follow the reaction of the monitored serial device on some special commands. Specify sending data format and begin monitoring serial port activity. Port Monitor lets you change input data stream parameters and easily modify COM port settings (stopbits, flow control, parity control, data bits, highlighting, etc.).
